“Yoga has the perfect solution to the problems we face”, PM Modi on International Yoga Day

The world is celebrating International Yoga Day today and we can proudly say that the credit goes to India who requested United Nations General Assembly in 2014 to declare 21st June as the International Yoga Day. This is the 4th consecutive year when the nationwide enthusiasm for the best form of exercise can be seen. PM Modi celebrates this day at Dehradun’s Forest Research Institute accompanied by the state’s CM, Governor and Ayush Minister.

PM while addressing 50,000 people today talked about the importance of Yoga for individual and society.

Modi said, “Yoga is beautiful because it is ancient yet modern, it is constant yet evolving. It has the best of our past and presents and a ray of hope for our future. In yoga, we have the Perfect solution to the problems we face, either as individuals or in our society”.

Talking about the health benefits of yoga, PM said, “The way to lead a calm, creative and content life is yoga. It can show the way in defeating tensions and mindless anxiety. Instead of dividing, yoga unites. Instead of further animosity, yoga assimilates. Instead of increasing suffering, yoga heals”.

In Delhi, around 15,000 people gathered at the 4th International yoga day event at Rajpath. An hour-long event started at 6 am in the early morning marked the presence of Union Minister Harsh Vardhan as the chief guest accompanied by the MP Meenakshi Lekhi.

Union Textile Minister Smriti Irani with the Punjab Governor VP Singh Badnore took part in the International Yoda event at Chandigarh on Thursday morning. Brahmi Kumari’s organised a marathon highlighting the need of health and happy life in Tamil Nadu and successful with the participation of hundreds of youngsters.

The last year record breaker for the largest yoga demonstration, Mysuru race Club (MRC) enthusiastically celebrated an hour-long event on the foothills of Chamundi on the International Yoga Day.

On Beach Road in Puducherry, Lieutenant Governor Kiran Bedi, Minister of State for Food Processing Industries Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti and Chief Minister V Narayanasamy participated at the massive yoga event.
