Yamaha Motor has launched its new bike – Yamaha Fazer 250 today in India. The new bike is loaded with full-body front fairing coupled with improved aerodynamics will offer better wind protection. Reports say that the all new Yamaha Fazer 250 will be the rival bike of Bajaj Pulsar RS 200, Honda CBR250R, KTM RC 200, Mahindra Mojo, Kawasaki Z250 and the upcoming bike of TVS, Apache 310.
Yamaha Fazer 250 is the second fully faired bike from Yamaha Motor India after Yamaha R15. Fazer 250 is company’s first 250cc bike in this segment in India. With the full-body front fairing, the bike will have LED daytime positioning lights. The main headlamp unit remains same as the semi-faired 150cc Fazer.
The company claimed that the new Fazer 250 is a versatile machine and not only offers a comfortable daily commuting ride but also be perfect for weekend rides as well.
Yamaha Fazer 250 is equipped with a 250cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine. The two-valve petrol engine churns out 20.9 ps of power at 8000rpm with a peak torque of 20Nm at 6000rpm. The engine is mated to a five-speed gearbox. The bike will also come with a fuel injection system for better response.
In direct competition to Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 and another bike in this segment, Yamaha Fazer 250 is expected to bring down the sales of some other models in similar price range. According to reports, booking of the new Fazer 250 has already started across India but the waiting period is still not reported. The Yamaha Fazer 250 is initially expected to have a price tag of Rs 1.28 lakh (approx).
