The most anticipated 5G technology to be launched is not far away from us as the Chinese phone maker Lenovo has finally announced to launch world’s first 5G smartphone by the end of this year.
With everyone’s surprise, Lenovo Vice-president Chang Cheng announced the launching of first 5G smartphone in a Weibo post. The post says that “The world’s first 5G mobile phones comes from Lenovo”. The new device will be running on the snapdragon 855 SoC.
However, the post was considered as creating the suspense in smartphone market without actually launching it first. Besides Lenovo, all other leading smartphone manufacturer are also working on 5G smartphone.
OnePlus has announced to launch its 5G smartphone with its OnePlus 7 soon by the end of May 2019 while Huawei has already showcased its 5G smartphone at MWC by this year. Xiaomi, Oppo and Vivo is also working with the 5G devices.
Earlier, Cheng also claimed that Lenovo Z5 will has a notch-less design, huge battery and other features but the smartphone doesn’t land up to that expectations as it is packed with only 3300mAh battery.
The latest chipset will be in mass production from the June with the next chipset expected to be of 7nm SoC and will be more power efficient than the current flagship chipset, Snapdragon 845.
Now, it will be interesting to see that if Lenovo would cope up with the expectation of new 5G smartphone launch equipped with snapdragon 855 SoC like announced earlier by Samsung Galaxy S10 and the OnePlus 7.
