Automobile company Volkswagen has revealed a compact SUV T-ROC. The SUV will be priced approximately in the Rs 15 lakh section and will go live for sale in November in Europe. The T-ROC is the fourth SUV ever from Volkswagen.
Internationally, the T-ROC will come in three variants of petrol and three of diesel engines. The petrol variants include a 113bhp 1.0-litre turbocharged TSI motor, a 148bhp 1.5-litre turbocharged TSI motor and a 197bhp 2.0-litre turbocharged TSI motor. The deisel variants will have 113bhp 1.6-litre turbocharged TDI motor and 2.0-litre turbocharged TDI motor that will be available in two states of tune (148bhp and 197bhp).
The T-ROC is 4,178mm long, 1,819mm wide and 1,573mm high and has a wheelbase of 2,603mm. The SUV can accommodate 445 litres of cargo which can be expanded to 1290 litres with the rear seats folded down. The ground clearance of 170mm, i.e. a little low for off-road drive. The SUV will also be available in a front-wheel drive setup with a manual gearbox or a front-wheel drive/4motion all-wheel drive with a seven-speed dual clutch gearbox.
It is expected to be available in India sometime in the second half of 2018 with only one petrol and one deisel engine option.
