On Wednesday at least 70 people were killed as a massive fire night ripped through several multi-storey buildings many of them housing chemical and plastic warehouses in a cramped old part of the Bangladeshi capital Dhaka. Hindi author, linguist, academician and literary critic Namvar Singh died in New Delhi late on Tuesday at the age of 92. He was admitted at Delhi’s All India Institute of Medical Sciences.
