The young chanu had already make proud to the nation by winning gold in Glasgow Games in 2014 in women’s 48 Kg category. She won the gold by lifting a total of 173 Kg (77+96) in 2014.
In the snatch lift, Sanjita Chanu started with a thunder, lifting 81Kg after which she gave her second attempt with 83Kg and then breaking all records she nailed it with the 84Kg in her final attempt.
In the clean and jerk lift, starting off with 104Kg was quite good for chanu following up with 108Kg but in her final attempt she got nervous after failing to lift 112Kg but the Canadian Toua failed with 113Kg try which bring the second gold to the nation.
