The new version of the Reliance Jio smartphone will be soon be available for the orders from August 15 as the new phone, Jio Phone 2 is announced by the company at its annual general meeting (AGM) last month with the highlights of QWERTY keypad on it. It will be available at an introductory price of Rs 2,999.
Customers will be able to do registration of the JioPhone 2 from August 15 on Jio.com or MyJio app. There are still predictions that JioPhone 2 will be available with the offline retailers too.
There will no pre-bookings for the phone now as done earlier by the company and users will have to pay the full price after the launch as there’s no cash delivery option yet.
To proceed with the payment, users can go to Jio Website or MyJio app and click on offer page but it is not clear that if JioPhone users will get the regular Jio plans or some other specific plans for the new device.
As per the Jio claims, there are about 25 million users of JioPhone devices while company is setting the target to reach to more than 100 million users of the Jio Phones.
The latest new JioPhone 2 comes with WhatsApp, Facebook, YouTube and Google Maps apps and soon these features will be available at the original JioPhone. The new JioPhone 2 comes with a Jio SIM as well.
If the users are finding the JioPhone 2 very expensive, they just have to exchange their existing feature phone for the older Jiophone at just Rs 501 under the Reliance Jio’s monsoon Hungama offer with only condition of feature phone to be in a working conditions.
Users can also avail to the JioPhone Recharge plan worth of Rs 594 with the unlimited voice and Data pack for 6 months with an additional bonus of 6GB data pack under a special exchange offer and users will get 90GB data over the 6 months period.
