Reliance Jio became second largest telcos by revenue, surpass Vodafone India

Reliance Jio is moving ahead in his move to become the largest telecom company in India as recently, the company has surpassed Vodafone India by revenue market share with its rival prices and strong performance in rural mobile markets.

Naveen Kulkarni, an analyst at PhillipCapital said, “That Jio would surpass Vodafone India (Independently) on RMS in the June quarter was expected, given its strong and sustained growth on this metric, but it now appears to be gradually getting within striking distance of Airtel”.

According to the official data released by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), Mukesh Ambani led Reliance Jio has reached to 22.4% within two years of its establishment while its main rivals like Vodafone has slipped to 19.3% and Idea to 15.4% in market revenue. Bharti Airtel is still holding the top place with 31.7% revenue.

Reliance Jio had overtaken Kumar Mangalam Birla led idea in March 2018 as an effect of which Idea and Vodafone proposed to be merged as a single entity thus making them the largest phone company with an RMS of 35% overall.

The biggest merger need just one approval from the Company Law Tribunal and will become the toughest company to compete with among other telecom company.
