Highlighted with the 2005 movie Aashiq Banaya Aapne Actress, Tanushree Dutt opened up for a 10-year-old controversy in which she blamed senior actor Nana Patekar’s behaviour towards the women by saying that he has always been disrespectful towards women.
Tanushree Dutt said in an interview with Zoom TV that even everyone knows about his behaviour but no publication house has ever printed anything about it.
She said, “Everyone knows about Nana Patekar that he has always been disrespectful towards women. People in the industry know about his background that he has beaten the actress, he has molested them, his behaviour with women has always been crude but no publication has printed anything about it”.
Actress Tanushree Dutt even blames big superstars like Akshay Kumar and Rajinikanth for working with Nana Patekar in the past years. according to her, if such actors will keep working with him, nothing could be changed.
Tanushree said, “Akshay Kumar has made new films with Nana Patekar in last eight years and Rajinikanth also recently worked with him. If such big stars will keep working with these culprits then there’s no hope for any movement to happen”.
Opening up for the #MeToo movement in the Bollywood industry, Tanushree Dutt cited an incident of 2008 movie Horn Ok Pleasss when she asked the producer and director of the movie to make him (Nana Patekar) stay away from her but nobody paid any heed to it.
She said, “When I had complained about the same to the producer-director and told them to ask him (Nana Patekar) to stay away from me, they didn’t pay heed. Just because I was new to the film industry, whether or not it was required, let’s do an intimate scene with her”.
However, Nana Patekar thrashed down all the accusation on him and said that Tanushree is my daughter’s age and he had no clues what she is talking about.
He said, “Tanushree Dutt is my daughter’s age and I have no clues about what made her say such things about me. I have been a part of this film industry for the last 35 years and haven’t had anyone saying such things about me ever”.
Tanushree Dutt started her career in 2005 with movie Aashiq Banaya Aapne and later on in movies like Dhol, Good Boy, Apartment and Bad boy.
