Mehul Choksi released video message, says all allegations are false

The Maternal Uncle of the fraudulent diamond Jeweller Nirav Modi, Mehul Choksi recently released a video message from Antigua in which he said that all the allegation imposed on him by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) department are false.

One of the accused of USD 2 million PNB money laundering case, Mehul Choksi took the citizenship of Antigua and Barbuda last year with the oath of allegiance on January 15 this year.

The video released by new agency ANI clearly showed Mehul Choksi talking about the suspension of his passport after which he questioned the authorities and it is yet to get the response by them.

In the post, Mehul Choksi said that, “The passport authorities revoked my passport altogether in view of which I was immobilize. On February 16, I received an email from the passport office which said that my passport has been suspended due to reasons of security threat to India”.

He further added, “On February 20, I sent an email to the regional passport office, Mumbai, requesting them to revoke the suspension of my passport. However, I did not receive any reply from the regional passport office”.

PNB scam includes the illegal assurance of the Letter of Undertaking by Nirav Modi and Mehul Choksi for more than USD 2 million by Punjab National Bank’s Brady branch during the time period of 2011-17.

By using the fraudulent PNB guarantees by LOUs, both Nirav Modi and Mehul Choksi had availed the credit from the overseas bank taking the liability on the PNB. However, Nirav Modi and Mehul Choksi have refused to cooperate in the investigation process claiming threat to their life and health conditions.
