The budget session of the Lok Sabha was adjourned by the speaker for the 19th consecutive day on Tuesday by doing zero business. While the Rajya Sabha was adjourned till 2pm.
Speaking about the delay of the work struck in between because of the protest, Rajya Sabha chairman Venkaiah Naidu speaks about the matter.
He says, “We have not transacted any bills, country wants development, you are testing the patience of the people of the country. Please understand that the entire country is agitated with what is happening in the House”.
Both Naidu and Parliamentary Affairs Ananth Kumar requested the members to go back to their seats.
Soon after the proceedings of the Lok Sabha started, the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhgam (AIADMK) MP’s started their protest with chanting slogans “Save the Andhra Pradesh” loudly in the well of the house.
The AIADMK MP’s were demanding for establishment of a Cauvery Water Management Board and asking for the no-confidence motion against the government but the speaker could not take up the notices unless the House was in order.As the chaos did not break up, the speaker is forced to adjourn the house till the noon.
TDP MP Naramalli Sivaprasad protest over the demand for the special status of Andhra Pradesh as he dressed up like as washerman today while he was also seen earlier to dressed up like a woman and a school boy.
However, TMC leader Derek O’ Brien said, “We want the parliament to run. The govt is running away from debate on issues like bank scam, dalit atrocities & farmer distress. In Lok Sabha, govt is running away from no-confidence Motion”.
In Rajya Sabha, the oath ceremony took place yesterday where forty-one members had taken the oath as the elected and re-elected MP’s including Jaya Bachchan.
Adjourning parliament session after the protest is a common practice as earlier in March both the big parties Congress and BJP started a stormy arguments followed by the zero postitive result.
