Liverpool singed a record- breaking deal with the Roma goalkeeper Alisson on Thursday. It’s a six- year agreement valued at 72.5 million Euro by the Italian club.
According to Roma, the deal signed by the Liverpool will fetch around 62.5 million Euro as the fee and it surpassed the 40m Euro deal signed between Benfica for Ederson in 2017.
The deal with the Liverpool includes the basic amount of 62.5 million Euro with additional 10m million Euro on add-ons which is dependent on Liverpool’s qualification for the champion league.
Alisson shared his excitement for the deal after the announcement by saying that, “I’m really happy, it’s a dream come true to wear such a prestigious shirt for a club of this size that is used to always winning”.
He added further, “In terms of my life and my career, it’s a huge step for me being a part of this club and this family. You can be certain that I’ll give my all”.
Alisson started his football career with the Brazil but moved to Roma in 2016. For this deal, he was replaced with Loris Karius whose errors in the Champion league gave a defeat to Liverpool by Real Madrid in May.
Alisson also tells about the inspiration he got from the ex-Roma player Mohamed Salah who encouraged him to join Liverpool.
He said, “Yesterday, he sent a text message saying: ‘Hey, what are you waiting for?” for which he replied, “Calm down, I’m on my way”.
Asking about the biggest deal, Klopp said, “At one point in the last few weeks it came up, the opportunity to sign one of the world’s best goalkeeper- then it’s not a long thought, to be honest, it’s only that you need to have a little talk with the owners! They were quite excited, so we did it”.
Before Alisson another three deals signed during this summer includes Naby Keita, Fabinho and Xherdan Shairi.
