Kings XI Punjab wins over Delhi Daredevil in Mohali on Sunday along with sprouting a record breaker K L Rahul who created the history by making the fastest fifty ever with just 16 runs in Indian Premier League.
With this achievement, the man of the match Rahul said that he was happy to make a new record.
He said, “I just went in there and I just took off. I didn’t plan this innings. I was just watching the ball and getting into good positions. It’s an opener’s responsibility to get the team off to a good start. Really happy that it comes off today. I was striking the ball really well, but it’s important to forget this innings and move on to the coming games”.
He further added, “I don’t want to be over-confident. I have been branded as a test cricketer for 4-5 years, so it’s good for me to be up there creating history and breaking the record”.
Delhi daredevils was defeated by the 6 wickets and they made a beaten score of 167 runs. K L Rahul continuously smashed every bowler coming on his way starting with Trent Boult for 16 runs, then Mohammed Shami for 12 runs and best 24 runs snatched from Amit Mishra.
Kings XI Punjab’s captain R Ashwin took a bold step by taking 17yrs old Afghanistan spinner Mujeeb Ur Rahman in his team. The young champ proves the decision right by taking the big wicket of the New Zealand Collin Munro in the third over with one more wicket by giving just 28 runs in 4 overs.
Rahul’s aggression was well added up with his team mate Karun Nair who made 50 runs with 33 balls. Yuvraj Singh was cold yesterday by making only 12 runs off 22 balls. To finish it up and mark a win, David Miller and Marcus Stoinis comes in by making unbeaten 22 runs in 15 balls.
R Ashwin said that he was much relieved after winning the match.
Ha said, “There is lesser pressure now. I had a bit of nerves going in for the toss. Feeling a bit relieved now. I had some elaborate plans going in the practice games. K L Rahul and the other guys help me execute them”.
