Injured Fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah will be replaced by the Mumbai pacer Shradul Thakur for the upcoming three-match series against England which will start from July 12.
Bumrah was hit hardly on his left thumb while trying to stop the ball on the last T20 international match against Ireland. He was later on underwent a surgery on Wednesday in Leeds that have been successful after which he moves back to India for the rehabilitation process for due course of time.
Amitabh Chaudhary, BCCI acting secretary said, “The All-India senior selection committee has named Shradul Thakur as Jasprit Bumrah’s replacement in India’s ODI squad”.
Shradul played in the recently held tri-series involved with the England Lions and West Indies A where he picked up eight wickets involving two in the final match against the Lions.
The 26-year-old bowler made his debut against Sri Lanka last year in the 4th ODI but he was absent along with Jaydev Unadkat in the T20 played against Ireland.
India’s team for the England includes Virat kohli, Shikhar Dhawan, Rohit Sharma, Suresh Raina, KL Rahul, Shreyas Iyer, Axar Patel, Dinesh Karthik, Yuzvendra Chahal, Umesh Yadav, Hardik Pandya, MS Dhoni, Shradul Thakur.
