Japanese Prime Minister Shinzō Abe to arrive in Ahmedabad today

Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe will be arriving in India today. He will be on a two-day visit and will arrive in Ahmedabad. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to receive him at the Ahmedabad airport on today.

To start of his visit, Shinzō Abe will be accompanied by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the iconic Sidi Saiyyed Mosque in Ahmedabad. Thereafter, he will be taken to have traditional Gujarati cuisines at the Agashiye restaurant, The House of MG. Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar are all shining with hoardings and banners of Abe to give him a grand welcome. Abe will begin the visit with an 8 KM road show. This is the first time such kind of a road show will be happening. Abe and Modi will also attend the launching ceremony of India’s first-ever Bullet train project. This project is to be executed on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad route. This will be a 508 Kilometre Long High-speed Rail Project will cost nearly Rs 1,10,000 crore.

There will also be enormous number agreements that will be signed with Japanese firms to invest in Gujarat. As many as 15 Japanese firms are expected to sign agreements to invest in Gujarat during Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe’s visit. There will also be discussions on getting cheaper loans for infrastructure development from Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). The agreements are expected to be signed at the 12th Indo-Japanese annual summit in Gandhinagar on Thursday.
