IPL 2018, RCB vs KKR; A short glance to know

The 29th match of the IPl season 2018 held between Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bangalore on Sunday was won by the Dinesh Kartik led KKR and they marked their win by 6 wickets leaving  5 balls spare. KKR won the toss and opt to field first thereby restricting the RCB at 175-4.

The best opening partnership of 67 runs in the VIVO IPL 2018 led by the AB de Villiers’ replacement Brendon McCullum and Quinton de Kock could not make the RCB reach to the wining front. After which, both went to the pavilion one by one and then the captain of the team Virat kohli took over the charge.

Starting slowly, Virat let the first 10 balls without scoring any boundary but once started with his bat, he took an outstanding cover and extra-cover drives leading him to the unbeaten 68 runs. All over, he hit five fours and three sixes thus adding 69 runs in the middle period and 66 runs in the final over.

The other two highlighted partnership of RCB were with the captain till the 4 the wicket supported by Mandeep Singh of 65 runs and for the unbeaten 35 runs till the 5 the wicket with the Collin de Grandhomme.

After RCB batting, KKR chase the target of 175 runs smartly and thanks to the man of the match Chris Lynn who played maturely and a thoughtful knock. He made an unbeaten 62 runs from 52 balls decorated by the 7 fours and a six. Chris was luckily saved initially when he was almost out by the Murugan Ashwin drop out catch after scoring 7 runs which later on prove to be a milestone in the KKR’s win.

The KKR’s little runs scored by Narine who hit 27 runs from 19 balls giving the innings an early momentum. Then comes Robin Uthappa who gave a neat little inning with three fours in his 21 balls 36 runs but later on stuck by the Tim Southee who took a catch right on the ropes long-on.

The KKR team was left with a pause after Nitesh rana retired by the injury but Captain Dinesh Kartik led his team with the best all he can do. He ensured that his team would win at any cost by running well between the wickets and making a good score of 23 runs in 10 balls with two boundaries and a six before the opponent’s captain Virat took a catch.
