Mumbai Indians led by the Rohit Sharma won yesterday’s match by 102 runs over Kolkata Knight Riders at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. This is the largest margin of this IPL season and hero of the match appears to be Kishan Ishan who made 62 runs in 21 balls along with the partnership of 82 runs with the captain of the team.
The wicket-keeper batsman Ishan Kishan after the game talked about his focus for the game and said, “My target was that if I get the ball in my arc, I just wanted to hit the ball out of the park. It was like keep watching the ball. If you get the ball, hit, otherwise you can go for a single as well. Rohit was batting with me, so there was no problem. I knew if I don’t score, he can cover up”.
It just took 30 minutes to take over the game from the hands of Kolkata Knight Riders when Ishan makes 62 runs in just 4 overs with an impressive 4 sixes and help Mumbai Indians to reach at 72 runs for 2 after the ten overs and 144 runs in the 15th overs. The Kolkata Knight Riders captain Dinesh Kartik too accepted the extraordinary performance of the Ishan.
He said, “His innings, at that stage of the game, changed the course of the game. He battled really well, and he played some nice shots. We bowled in areas he could have gotten out, but he went over the fielders”.
Kishan has made 100 runs in over 52 games with the strike rate of 130 which is an impressive reading as he is always backed by the skipper and team management thus making him happy.
Kishan said, “I also get lots of tips from Dhoni Bhai. He’s a legend player and he keep telling me you can take time. Just read the situation and see how to build you innings. I feel confident when these guys talk to me”.
With the wining, Mumbai Indians stands at the 4th position on the table of IPL 2018 and had won 18 games with eight on the row while Kolkata after losing the match dropped to the fifth position.
