The 50th match of the IPL 2018 emerged as another suspense creating match at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai yesterday but clearing all the guesses at the end, Mumbai Indians takes on three-runs lead over Kings XI Punjab with players like Jasprit Bumrah who killed by his slower deliveries variations and led the team at the winning position.
Succeeding the toss, Kings XI Punjab choose to bowl first but couldn’t stop the waves of runs from MI as Kieron Pollard makes fifty followed by Krunal Pandya 32 runs and little runs are contributed by the Mitchell McClenaghan and Mayank Markande thus giving a good target of 186/8 for the Kings XI Punjab.
However, the lone fighters by the KXIP were Andrew Tye and KL Rahul as Andrew Tye wears the purple cap by giving a score of 4/16 and KL Rahul smashed 94 runs in 60 deliveries. Ravichandran Ashwin also supported the team with his spell of 2/18.
The match at this point is still in the suspense as Mumbai Indians is yet to come with game-changing players like Jasprit Bumrah and he lift up the expectations well. Bumrah turned the game at the last overs by snatching the wickets of Aaron Finch and Marcus Stoinis at the 17th over.
The tornado of Bumrah is still not over as he came back at the 19th over and with his slow killing deliveries, he halted KL Rahul to score a century at 94 runs and thus makes Kings XI Punjab to crippled win of 20 runs in the last overs.
Jasprit Bumrah has come a long way in the last two years and worked hard on his bowling skills which is not at all easy. His Yorkers bowl and unpredictable bouncer makes him a reason to be feared by the most batsmen. Thus, yet another defeat of the Mumbai Indians makes them difficult to survive in the IPL for the long run.
