Kolkata Knight Riders won the match against Rajasthan Royals on Wednesday and restricted the Rajasthan Royals’ team in 160 by winning over the match by 7 wickets at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium. However, the record of wining 9 consecutive wins by the Rajasthan Royals in their home time was broken yesterday.
Dinesh Kartik Led Kolkata Knight Riders performed well especially bowlers who stood up and ensured that not even a single over was loosened up from their side by putting a continuous pressure.
The captain let the spinner Piyush Chawla to give three overs in the powerplay while Sunil Narine looked out of sorts by giving 18 runs in the fourth over but he later on managed to compensate the loss by scoring 34 for 24 balls. However, Rajasthan Royals skipper Ajinkya Rahane supports his bowlers and tap their back in spite of losing the match.
Ajinkya said, “We were 15-20 runs short but it is nothing to do with our bowling. Our bowlers have been bowling really well. In T20 it happens, even if they bowl well sometimes they will go for runs. I will back my bowlers”.
He said, “But no excuses, we are professional cricketers, we know how to bat in these conditions. It was my responsibility to take that innings forward because I was batting really well. If I would have batted till the 15th over then it would have been different”.
