The spokesperson for IndiGo said. “This is to clarify that our 8 Airbus A320 neo planes are grounded.
Our schedule has already planned the non-availability of these aircraft for the month of July, August
and September. The affected passengers have already been accommodated with suitable options”.
IndiGo had to act as a result of issues in the planes engines provided by Pratt & Whitney, sources
said. The airline is experiencing operational issues with the A320 neo engines due to “premature
degradation of the combustor chamber lining and the premature wear of the No. 3 bearing seal.”
The airline had also confirmed that it will receive compensation from Pratt & Whitney for grounding
the planes and expressed dissatisfaction over the situation.
