After India lost its first four wickets for just 61 runs in 16 overs, the hosts team started hoping for a victory. But a terrific partnership between Rohit Sharma along with MS Dhoni took India to a six wicket win in the 3rd One Day International. The guest team now have already clinched the five match ODI series by 3-0 with 2 games to play.
The local crowd present at the Pallekele International Stadium were angered by the appalling performance of the home team and started throwing bottles onto the ground just before India needed only eight runs to take over a lead of 3-0 in the ODI series. The un-mannered act of the crowd forced the game to stop for 34 minutes. India finished the game in seven balls when the game resumed only when the western grass bank were vacated.

Just like the last match, team India lost its first four wickets in 16 overs for 61 runs, but Rohit Sharma’s 12th ODI century which was turned out to be an unbeaten 124 runs off 145 balls including 2 sixes & 16 fours in partnership with Dhoni for 157 runs pushed India for a third win in the ODI series over Sri Lanka.
As the match almost slipped out from Sri Lanka’s hand, the crowd hoping for a win began to lose their calm and started throwing bottles in the ground which resulted in stopping the game for 35 minutes. Meanwhile former Indian Captain MS Dhoni was seen taking a power-nap as the authorities vacated the western grass bank of the stadium. In the end, Team India registered another comfortable win against the Lankan’s.
