India wins over south Africa with a lead of 124 runs in the third one day international at Newlands on Wednesday. The outstanding form of Virat Kohli is seen as he made 160 not out from 159 balls and India makes 303 runs in over 50 overs by restricting south Africa to 179 all out and made a 3-0 lead in the series.
South Africa had to face tough time without stalwarts Faf du Plessis, Ab de Villiers and Quinton de Kock, as the batsmen couldn’t continue for long and the Indian spinners seems to be dominating with Kuldeep Yadav, who took a best lead with 4-23 in 9 overs and Yuzvendra Chahal with 4-46 in 9 overs.
The series will continue in the fourth match at the wanderers in Johannesburg on Saturday.
The excellent Kohli scores four centuries in his last 50 over innings. He withstands for being out leg before wicket to Kogiso Rabada when reviews showed he had just cross the edge of ball.
Then the partnership with Shikhar Dhawan continued with 139 runs after the second wicket and lays the foundation for a huge score.
Before the match India skipper Kohli said: “You’re always looking for someone to bat until the end and it’s amazing if you do it as the captain”.
A partnership of 78 is seen between south African Captain Aiden Markram(32) and JP Duminy(52) and a hope of winning the match sprouts up in between. But smashing up the heaps of hope for the South African team, Chahal and Yadav took eight wickets for 69 runs and get the hold over on innings back.
Chahal took Heinrich Klaasen’s wicket and Yadav stumped Makram by MS Dhoni. However, the former captain MS dhoni made a record by stumping markram to 400 ODI dismissals as the first Indian wicket keeper to reach that mark.
Markram said: “everything is disappointing about this. Yet again we were not up to the mark. We’ve only get ourselves to blame, we have to try harder. We have come across the spinners before and after that all that time we’re struggling to pick them, it speaks of their quality”.
