FIFA World Cup 2018: Belgium won by 1-0 over England

In the Group G match held on Thursday, Belgium team took over England by 1-0 and appeared to be a reluctant winner. Adnan Januzaj’s curling shot made Belgium to be in the first position of the group.

With the win, Belgium coach Roberto Martinez doesn’t seems to be over-confident. He said, “I don’t think you can plan the ideal scenario. you have seen big nations coming very close to elimination, or already eliminated”.

Both England and Belgium team have entered in the Group G match despite of the loss suffered by England who lost the top spot after dropping Harry Kane and seven others from the team while Belgium won despite of the nine changes made.

After losing from Belgium, England coach Gareth Southgate said, “We don’t like to lose, but tonight there were other factors that were more important. We know our strongest 11, but what’s pleasing is that there are guys that have put their hand up tonight to really push for a place”.

The real hero of the match appeared to be Adnan Januzaj who cunningly took a cut and made an unstoppable shot across England goalkeeper Pickford giving his team a victory.

However, he had to face a lot of criticism when his career faltered in the past at Borussia Dortmund and Sunderland. He said, “In England I had a lot of criticism. Now I wanted to show people I’m here. I’ve been putting in a lot of work”.

After losing from Belgium, England will now face Colombia on Tuesday followed by the possible matches against Spain, Russia, Crotia, Denmark, Sweden and Switzerland.
