All the four members of a family are dead when a fire broke out in Delhi’s residential building of Kohat Enclave near Pitampura. The fire incident took place due to a short circuit in the pump room of the building after which the fire fighters were informed at around 2.48 am and fire was doused around 4 am but it was too late.
Reports suggested that all the four members of the family including husband, wife and their two children aged 3-year-old and 7-year-old were dead after struggling with the sudden fire and its suffocation. The family was sleeping at the time of incident due to which they are unable to find an escape.
All the five vehicles parked in the basement were also destroyed by the fire. A probe of the matter is underway.
The incident is followed by the series of the fire incident and one such fire tragedy took place on April 9 when five people were dead including two minors after the fire blaze in Rajapuri area of Sultanpuri.
Another incident took place in Delhi’s Lajpat Nagar when a fire engulfed on the top floor of a four-storey building in the busy market place.
An officer of the Delhi Fire services said, “The call about fire in a fourth floor of a building in Lajpat Nagar-II’s Central Market area was received at 8.55 AM on Wednesday, and 10 fire tenders were rushed to the spot”.
Further investigation is done to check whether the buildings of both the incident of Kohat Enclave or Lajpat Nagar had proper exits.
