Thrashing down other new movie releases like Saif Ali Khan’s Bazaar or Namaste England, Ayushmann Khurana’s Badhaai Ho is still ruling the box office revenue with the collection of 76 crores on the 10th day of the movie release.
Badhaai ho had collected Rs 6.5 crore on Saturday which is 91.18% higher than revenue collected on Friday and the Trade analyst Taran Adarsh mention the collection of the movie by giving a clue if whether it will join 100 cr club.
He said, “BadhaaiHo will cruise past Rs. 80 crore mark today. Second Sat witnessed 91.18% growth. Question is, will it join the Rs. 100 cr club? Much depends on how strong it trends till #TOH arrives in #Diwali (week 2) Fri 3.40 cr, Sat 6.50 cr. Total Rs. 76 cr. India biz”.
Based on an interesting and unusual script, Badhaai Ho revolves around Ayushmann’s father (Gajraj Rao)-mother (Neena Gupta) who became parents of the third child when he was an adult thus leading the family to be in embarrassment in front of the society.
According to one of the critics, the movie is “The biggest win for Amit sharma and writers Shantanu Srivastava and Akshat Ghildial is the relatability of the characters, despite the situation being unusual”.
“If you are from North India, you’ll relate to the language and attitude of the characters shown in the film. The banter shared between Surekha Sikri and Neena Gupta is simply hilarious. Amit Sharma should also be applauded for not going overboard with the melodramatic scenes in the second half. These scenes not only make you laugh but also warm your heart”. He added further.
Besides good collection in India, Badhaai Ho is doing well at the Australian box office and arise as the eight highest Indian movie to cross $500,000 mark. Even it is the highest grosser Indian movie of 2018 in Australia.
