Asian Games Day 6: Rohan Bopanna, Divij Sharan and rowing team grabs gold, Heena Sidhu wins bronze

On the day 6 of the Asian Games 2018, India continues to shine brightly with the medal tally increase. In the tennis Men’s Doubles finals, Rohan Bopanna and Divij Sharan grabs the gold medal while the Rowing team celebrated a triumphant gold moment and shooter Heena Sidhu wins the bronze medal.

The tougher competition between Rohan, Divij and Kazakhstan’s Bublik Aleksandr and Denis Yevseyev ends up with the victory of India by 2-0 against the Kazakhstan’s opponent. With this, India has won the 6 gold medals of the Asian Games 2018.

The sport rowing lesser known in India not only marked the presence of India in the Asian Games 2018 but also won a gold medal with the splendid team efforts of Indian contingents Sawarn Singh, Dattu Bhokanal, Om Prakash and Sukhmeet Singh.

In Tennis sport, veteran Heena Sidhu settled down for the bronze medal in women’s 10m air rifle final with 219.3 points while his companion and Commonwealth Games gold medallist Manu Bhaker had to face the disappointment as she was eliminated at the fifth place with a score of 176.2.

In the archery event, India’s Vennam Jyoti Surekha and Abhishek Verma qualified for the finals of Compound mixed category after defeating Iraq’s Fatimah-al-Mashhadani and Eshaaq al Daghman with a score of 155-147 victory.

In the Men’s lightweight single scull event, India’s contingent Dushyant won the bronze medal. Union Sports minister Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore congratulate Dushyant for his victory by a tweet.

With this, total medal tally of India at Asian Games 2018 reaches to 23 including 6 gold, 4 silver and 13 bronze
