91st Academy award results announced: Here’s the list of winners

The 91st Academy Award came to an end on Sunday by awarding Green Book Best Picture. Its win over Netflix’s Roma wasn’t the only upset of the night, with The Favourite‘s Olivia Colman beating out 7-time Oscar nominee Glenn Close for the Best Actress prize.

In the Best Actor role, Rami Malek won out for his performance as Freddie Mercury in Bohemian Rhapsody. The film also won numerous technical awards, including Best Editing and two sound awards.
While A Star Is Born lost out in the acting categories, it did win Best Song for “Shallow.”

 Alfonso Cuarón backed the Best Directing award for Roma. The Best Supporting Actor award male was won by Mahershala Ali for the Green Book and the best-supporting-actress was given to Regina King for If Beale could talk.

Ludwig Goransson won the award for Black Panther whileLady Gaga, Mike Ronson, Anthony Rossomondo and Andrew Wyatt backed the  Best Original Song award for A Star Are Born.

Charlie Wachtel & David Rabinowitz and Kevin Willmott & Spike Lee won the Best Adapted Screenplay for Blackkklansman.

Nick Vallelonga, Brian Currie, Peter Farrelly backed the award for Green Book.

 Skin won the award for Best Live Action Short.

Paul Lambert, Ian Hunter, Tristan Myles and J.D. Schwalm backed the award for Best Visual Effects for First Man.

 Domee Shi and Becky Neiman-Cobb won the Best Animated Short for Bao.

Rayka Zehtabchi and Melissa Berton won the award for Best Documentary Short  Period End of Sentence.

Spiderman: Into the Spider-Verse backed the Best Animated Feature award.

 John Ottman won the Best Film Editing award for Bohemian Rhapsody.

Best Foreign Language award backed by Roma.

Best Cinematography award backed by Alfonso Cuarón for Roma.

John Warhurst and Nina Hartstone backed the award for  Best Sound Editing for Bohemian Rhapsody.

Best Sound Mixing award backed by  Paul Massey, Tim Cavagin and John Casali for Bohemian Rhapsody.

Best Documentary Feature award was backed by Free Solo.
