About 50 people were killed with 70 others injured when a suicide bomber blew himself in the Afghan Capital Kabul on Tuesday, three government officials aware of the matter said.
The official said, “A suicide bomber detonated his explosives inside a wedding hall where Islamic religious scholars had gathered to commemorate the anniversary of the Prophet Mohammad’s birth”.
The attack took place in the Uranus Wedding hall nearby Kabul airport where an attacker entered the hall and blew himself.
A spokesman of the Kabul police, Basir Mujahid talked about the incident which happened when hundreds of Islamic scholars gathered for the prayer.
He said, “Hundreds of Islamic scholars and their followers had gathered to recite verses from the Holy Quran to observe the Eid Milad-un-Nabi festival at the private banquet hall”.
Till now, nobody has taken the responsibility of the attack.
