The new minister of Karnataka, HD Kumaraswamy will expand his cabinet today nearly after two weeks of taking over as the Chief Minister of the state. As per the reports, 12 congress and 9 JD (s) MLA are likely to oath as the ministers.
The swearing ceremony of the coalition government will took place at Raj Bhavan in Karnataka’s Bengaluru at 2 pm. A meeting was held earlier between the congress head Rahul Gandhi and senior state congress leader followed by which 12 congress name was finalised.
The ministers who will took the oath today includes DK Shivakumar, KJ George and Priyank George. Different portfolio was allocated by keeping in focus of 2019 Lok Sabha elections.
Apart from these seats, some portfolio may remain vacant in case of any conflict between the two parties. The allotment of the Congress-JD(S) was finalised on June 1 after approval from Rahul Gandhi.
The allotment of the 22 ministers on the Congress side includes Home Irrigation, Agriculture and Women Child Welfare Ministers and Health while 12 ministers includes Public Works Departments, Tourism and Transport, Finance and Excise, Education Ministers was allocated to the JD(S).
Both Congress and JD(S) party have announced to contest the most awaited 2019 polls election together in Karnataka.
